ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF
I AM THE HAPPIEST WOMAN BECAUSE I WORK FOR MY FAMILY!!!
Three Questions today
Q: From Sarah: I have two kids: 12 and 14.They both have a terrible acne problem. It's out of control! Any advice?
A: The teenage years tend to be a very insecure time for a child or young adult. Acne can add even more anxiety and frustration. It's very important to deal with the problem as soon as possible to avoid scars in the future.
One of the reasons for out of control acne (aside from those hormones chugging away like mad!) is poor nutrition. Processed and fried foods should be cut to a bare minimum. Sodas and sugary cereals should be avoided. Explain to your children that if they don't know what it's made of-they shouldn't eat it.
I have a 13 year old boy myself. Those pimples pop up like mushrooms after the rain. I nag constantly not to pick them or touch them with dirty hands.
Products I like are Neutrogena facial swabs. Have one pack at home and one in the backpack. Encourage your teen to wipe his or her face at recess and after PE. They should also start taking a shower after school at this point. Great product to use in the shower is Clear Pore daily scrub also by Neutrogena. Moms, try it too! It made my skin look fresher and even whiter.
A good idea is to introduce your teen to a dermatologist as that may avoid painful and pricey resurfacing procedures later in life. Be prepared to battle with it for several years. Good luck!
Q from Trish: My baby is 18 months old. When is a good time to potty train?
A: The best time to toilet train is when you are ready and there is a consistency. You have to take your time and make sure your baby is not sick at the time and everyone in the household is on the same page. It can get very frustrating for your child and you if after several days of trying to be diaper free someone shows up to baby-sit for a few hours, puts a pull-up on your kid and you are back to square one. The bottom line is: have a plan - make sure anyone coming in contact with your child is on the same page as you, then start with your baby. Good luck!
Q from D: I've had three kids and now my body looks like I was attacked by a lion.My husband says he loves me just the way I am and wants to keep the lights on but I'm very insecure about my stretch marks when we are in bed. Any Ideas?
A:By the way, I believe that your hubby loves and desires you the way you are. However if you have one less thing to worry about when you are intimate with him- the quality of your love making will be much better for both of you. Did you experiment with lingerie? Long silky provocative gown or flirty baby-doll? Keep the lights on if he likes it. Did you try candles? Everyone looks better, younger, and thinner in candle light. Try battery-operated candles with a timer for a worry-free evening. They'll be on when you enter your bedroom and if you fall asleep- they'll turn off by themselves. I just love modern times!!!!
HOUSEKEEPING
Anything copper in the house? We have a bar top. It's a pain in the.....well....hands to keep it shiny.
It took my housekeeper and I several hours last week to make it look decent. We tried lemon, Brasso (more expensive is not necessarily better),...
OK! TARN-X!! Fabulous product!! Just wipe it off. Easy, as housekeeping should be! Don't forget to wear gloves.
Please let me know if you've made a product switch and why.
BEAUTY
I am trying a new product.
Origins Plantscription. Anti-aging serum. So far I like it. It feels good, doesn't leave any residue and I thinks the lines around my eyes are a bitt less visible XXX
