MONDAY! Ughhhh!!
I Don't know anyone who looks forward to Mondays. Monday is a drag for a lot of people. It's a day when to-do lists are long, phones ring non-stop, you get double the amount of e-mails, traffic is heavy, and people are cranky.
For years I've been trying to deal with Mondays. I think I'm getting better at it (I'm enjoying a glass of red, while writing my Monday blg... oops...BLOG. Unusual).
Why do I think Mondays are so important? Why not just power through them? I personally think Monday is the front door to your week (should I copyright that?)
If you have a lot of fun on Monday it feels like Sunday, then on Tuesday morning you have a lot of enthusiasm, not to mention guilt that you had fun on Monday of all days, when everyone was stressing. You are still with it on Wednesday, because it feels like Tuesday, and on Thursday you are already looking forward to a weekend. Ta-DA!! Makes sense?
So what did I try to do over the years? My husband and I went to this one restaurant that had a Monday gourmet prix fixe special, which made it our culinary evening.
If I need a massage - I have it on Monday. I feel I'm getting a special treatment since spas are full on weekends and therapists are tired and not paying attention. It's especially convenient during sports season - no one in my family even knows I'm gone!
Lots of restaurants are closed on Monday - perfect day to see a movie!
What if babysitting is not available? Take an extra-long shower and imagine you are on a cruise ship going some place exotic, and then fix yourself your favorite exotic drink! HAPPY MONDAY!!
AFTER ALL IT IS A WEEKDAY, so, ... DRAWER -A -DAY
Another piece of advice! Try to keep your housekeeping simple. Don't try to conquer mountains of laundry and miles of floors today - it's not going anywhere....unfortunately!
Is it time for a new bathing suit?
Summer is here and it's time to check that drawer where you keep your bathing suit/suits. Ask yourself a question: " Is my bating suit stretched out? Is it still the original color? Is it old fashioned (not to be confused with classic old Hollywood glamour). If you answer is YES to one of those questions - it's time to buy a new one, and throw away the old. Think of it this way. Unless you are a Brazilian supermodel, most of us feel just a little insecure being in a bathing suit. Are my legs too white. Did that double double go to my thighs already or is it still hanging in my stomach. The last thing you need to worry about is the shape of your bathing suit!
Don't make it an investment. I like to buy several good looking but inexpensive bathing-suits and throw them away at the end of a season. Sometimes tops end up in better condition than bottoms. Collect them and find a common color bottom, like solid white or blue, that will go with all your random tops.
TOO MANY RIPE BANANAS?
PEEL THEM, FREEZE THEM. They are perfect to use in a smoothie. Healthy easy meal. Blend one fruit yogurt with one frozen banana and 9 oz. of fat-free milk!
FABULOUS FOR YOUR FACE
Mush one very ripe banana with one tablespoon of olive oil and half a teaspoon of lemon juice.
Apply on clean face for 20 minutes. Wash with warm water. Your face will feel fantastic and smell good!
HAVE A WONDERFUL MONDAY!!
